Former Hoops player has major concerns over Celtic signing appearing ‘off target’
Former Celtic defender Mark Wilson is yet to be convinced by the “electric” talent of Nicolas Kuhn, who made a £3million signing from the Scottish Premier League champions in January.
Nicolas Kuhn could have scored the equalizer in only his second appearance for the Hoops – albeit a heavily deflected performance away to Aberdeen – and could certainly have endured a worse start to life in his new home in Glasgow.
On the other hand, this remains his only significant contribution so far in the green and white stripes, with the Rapid Vienna signing in January failing to build on Pittodrie’s equalizer against Hibernian a few days later.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers admitted after the Hibs match that Kuhn will need some time to adapt to a new club and new competition, although Wilson already has serious reservations about the latest player to wear the famous number ten shirt that he will choose at Parkhead.

“We heard that it is electric and can be controlled by humans. I have yet to see it. I caught a few glimpses of Pittodrie, but it seemed very far away the other day at Easter Road.Kuhn joined Celtic last month, signing from Austrian football for a fee of £3 million.
The speedy German-born striker has built quite a reputation for himself in youth football – representing Ajax, Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig as a teenager – but he has yet to consistently translate his potential into senior football.
The £3 million man has a lot to work on“I just think (Kuhn needs time) to adapt to our style of play,” Rodgers said on Celtic’s YouTube channel. “We went over his times with him and the areas (he can improve).
“When you move from one team to another, the characteristics can be the same. But there are still differences that must be overcome, and sometimes you notice it when you are on the ground.
Adam Idah, Celtic’s other mid-season signing, has certainly made a bigger impact north of the border.
The Norwich City loanee has scored two goals on this trip to Hibernian – including an injury-time winner – and already appears to be forming an effective partnership with Kyogo Furuhashi in the final third.
