Kurt Zouma admits West Ham are really missing two players
West Ham United defender Kurt Zouma believes West Ham United are currently missing two specific players.
Kurt Zouma played for West Ham in their 3-0 defeat against Manchester United yesterday – our sixth game in a row without a win in all competitions
The Hammers flew at the end of December, but our squad was severely depleted in January due to injuries, player departures and the departure of Mohammed Kudus and Nayef Aguerd at the AFCON.
As far as I’m concerned, we really need to face these big competitions away from home with a better mentality.
However, one caveat to our defeat was the fact that we were missing one of our best players, if not the best, Lucas Paquetà.
Furthermore, Michail Antonio is still injured, so Moyes doesn’t have many options in attack.
The Frenchman spoke to reporters after our 3-0 defeat to Manchester United yesterday afternoon.
And the 29-year-old stressed the need for the Brazil and Jamaica international to return to action as quickly as possible, as cited by WHUFC.com:
Lucas Paqueta and Michail Antonio are two important players for the team and we need everyone to be fair.
I don’t know when, but it will be nice to have her back.
It goes without saying that we miss Paqueta a lot and all the good things he brings to the teamHowever, I’m not sure that Antonio has disappeared in recent months.
However, with Pablo Fornals and Said Benrahma sold in January, we will definitely need the 33-year-old back as soon as possible to get up and running.
Kurt Zouma says West Ham need Paqueta and Antonio back quickly if we are to get our season back on track.
Hopefully Moyes can call on at least one of them for the game against Arsenal next weekend.
