Moyes says West Ham have a big problem right now, but how on earth did they only notice it now?
West Ham United manager David Moyes is currently under enormous pressure in his role following a terrible five-week run of form.
Overall, David Moyes has done a fantastic job since he returned to West Ham in December 2019, guiding us to a top-seven finish in the Premier League and our first major trophy since 1980.
However, the football implemented by the Hammers boss leaves a lot to be desired. The point is, with the players the Scot now has at his disposal, there is absolutely no excuse for Moyes not to make his team more attacking, with his players at the forefront from kick-off.
His defeatist attitude before away matches against the so-called “Big Six” is also completely unacceptable and now appears to have affected the players as well.
To top it off, Moyes allowed Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals to leave the club before the January deadline without bringing in a replacement, and he also failed to sign a center forward we desperately need.
But it seems Moyes has only just realized we have a problem in the final third – completely confusing in my opinion!
The Scot spoke to the media yesterday afternoon following yesterday’s 3-0 defeat at Old Trafford.
And Moyes lamented his team’s wastefulness in front of goal, as quoted by WHUFC.com:“From the beginning, I wondered if we would achieve anything.
Let’s be honest, this doesn’t just apply today, but also in recent matches. We haven’t scored many goals lately.
We only had one chance against Bristol City, two against Sheffield United and one against AFC Bournemouth, but today I felt we had better chances. I thought we played better today and had a few chances, but we just weren’t determined when we had the moments.
Let me get this straight: Moyes only realized last month that we were struggling in front of goal? I’m sorry, but this is not enough and unacceptable for a so-called top manager.
We’re not exactly a fluid team, are we? The Hammers have only scored three goals once since November – our 3-0 win over Wolves in December. In fact, we’ve only managed it four times in the Premier League this season.
It is so obvious to anyone watching West Ham that we need a quality striker to fit into our system. However, it seems West Ham manager David Moyes has only just realized this.
