Spurs are ‘convinced’ that Premier League star is their ‘dream’ signing – Journalist – Spurs Web – Tottenham Hotspur Football News
Journalist Dean Jones has said that Tottenham Hotspur remain obsessed with Conor Gallagher, with many at the North London club convinced that the Chelsea man would be the perfect number eight in their system.
Since the January window closed, various publications have continued to talk up the chances of Tottenham revisiting their interest in Gallagher next summer if he does not sign a new contract with Chelsea.
At the start of last week, The Daily Mail suggested that Spurs might have an advantage in the race for the 23-year-old as the midfielder would prefer to remain in London if he left his boyhood club next summer.
The report explained that the Blues are reluctant to offer the England international a contract worth more than £150k per week as some at the West London club believe that the midfielder has some technical limitations in possession.
However, a few days ago, The Athletic revealed that some people at Tottenham and Newcastle sense that Chelsea do not wish to sell Gallagher to them as they are wary of strengthening their direct rivals.
Conor Gallagher is the dream signing for Spurs
Jones has now insisted that those at Hotspur Way are convinced that the midfielder has the technical attributes as well as the personality to fit in perfectly at the club.

The journalist told GiveMeSport: “Tottenham are absolutely convinced that he’s the kind of dream number eight that they’re after. So from a playing style, and personality on the pitch, Conor Gallagher really does fit the ethos of where they want to take this team.
“I’d say things that go against it at the moment are the fact that Conor Gallagher is Chelsea through and through. And that does sometimes play into whether a player would be willing to join a certain team. I’m not ruling out that he would join Tottenham, but it’s something to consider.”
Spurs Web Opinion
It is needless to speculate about Gallagher right now as it is unclear if he will sign a new contract with Chelsea before the summer. My gut feeling is that the Blues will offer the 23-year-old the contract he wants within the next few months as they would want to protect his value.
