“Barcelona won the World Cup, not Spain.”
Eric Cantona’s words after Spain’s World Cup victory in 2010 still reverberate at Camp Nou.
With Andres Iniesta, Xavi, Sergio Busquets, Carles Puyol, Gerard Pique, and Pedro starting in the final against the Netherlands, Barça had arguably the strongest national team unit ever.

Fast forward 12 years and Barcelona has six players in the lineup for the Nations League game against Switzerland. Busquets holds the armband, anchored by Pedri and Gavi in the midfield.
Ferran Torres leads the attack, with Eric Garcia and Jordi Alba making up half of the back four.
While this is a ‘friendly’, all six of these players are in contention to start the World Cup two months later.
