Real Madrid Boss Reveals Three Reasons Why Club Dropped Karim Benzema And Two Others Vs Getafe

Karim Benzema suffered an injury in Real Madrid’s Champions League opener against Celtic and has only recently returned to the field. However, it has not been the most successful of returns.

He ended up missing a penalty kick against Osasuna in a 1-1 tie. Then, in midweek, he drew a blank against Shakhtar Donetsk as well.

It should also be noted that Benzema had not been in top form prior to his injury against Celtic.

Thus, the Frenchman has struggled this season, whereas Vinicius Jr has established himself as Real Madrid’s most reliable source of goals. Not many people would have predicted that a year ago, but it is the reality of the situation right now.

In the midst of all of this, Benzema has been left out of the squad that will face Getafe this weekend. And, as Marca reported, the Frenchman did not train with his teammates on Friday in order to stay fresh for the upcoming games.

As Real Madrid attempts to reclaim first place in La Liga, Benzema is left out of the squad to face Getafe.

The club posted on Twitter:

The game against Getafe is crucial for Real Madrid because Barcelona climbed to the top of the La Liga table after a 1-1 draw with Osasuna.

It is safe to say that the capital side will want to reclaim their place as soon as possible, and as a result, Benzema’s absence from this match is somewhat surprising.

One has to wonder if the Frenchman is still suffering from the effects of his earlier injury, as he hasn’t looked particularly sharp in his last couple of appearances.

At the same time, at 35 years old, it might be a good idea to give Benzema a break now and then.
