Arthur Melo appoints more fitness personnel in an attempt to prove himself at Liverpool.
Loanee with a deadline Artur is going above and beyond to ensure he is in peak condition for Liverpool, having brought in additional fitness personnel.
During the international break, Arthur is working on his fitness in preparation for a return to action for Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp will be cautious with a player who did not participate in pre-season with Juventus after he was used in two games and given 13 minutes in the 4-1 loss at Napoli.
But, instead of taking time off during the international break, the 26-year-old has been training and playing with the Liverpool under-21s, starting against both Leicester and Rochdale.
U21s coach Barry Lewtas has explained how he has “really embraced it,” while new details from the Times’ Paul Joyce show Arthur going to great lengths to prove himself.
The Brazilian has enlisted the help of three personal fitness experts to supplement the medical staff already in place at Liverpool.
With Arthur, physiotherapist Adrian Martinez Castro, fitness coach Daniel Esteban Labarca Encina, and nutritionist Joana Pessoa Dell’Oro have all relocated to Merseyside.
Last week, they were joined at Anfield by another physio, Angel Lapuebla Perez, and coach Adria Carmona, a former Barcelona and AC Milan youth player.
Castro and Labarca have collaborated with Arthur for years as part of their company FisioBox, having met the midfielder during his time at Barcelona.
FisioBox primarily trains Spanish players and has recently trained Bojan Krkic, Marc Muniesa, Sergi Samper, and Ballon d’Or Feminin winner Alexia Putellas.
Arthur’s decision to relocate a number of coaches to Liverpool for his season-long loan is yet another indication of his commitment not only to fitness but, hopefully, to contributing to a successful season at Anfield.
Even after a 63-minute outing against League Two side Rochdale, it is clear that Arthur still needs time to get up to speed; the hope is that this will speed up the process.
