According to reports, Liverpool have ‘enquired’ about signing Ajax forward Anthony this summer.
According to Football Insider, the Reds have begun investigating the possibility of bringing the 22-year-old to Anfield this summer, who is valued at £59 million by the Dutch giants.
Following Erik Ten Hag’s arrival at Old Trafford earlier this month, Manchester United has also been heavily linked with the forward. Nonetheless, neither club is willing to pay Ajax’s asking price for the Brazilian, according to the report.
Despite the links, it appears unlikely that the Reds will pursue a player in Anthony’s mold, having already signed Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho this summer.

Liverpool are reportedly interested in Aston Villa midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka, whose contract expires next summer.
Liverpool’s incoming transfer business is thought to be complete after signing Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho, and Calvin Ramsay this summer. As a result, plans to overhaul the Reds’ midfield have been put on hold until 2023.
Some have criticized the decision, but it has also sparked speculation about a possible move for Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham. With the England international being linked with Liverpool and the Bundesliga club refusing to sell before next summer, it’s easy to make assumptions.
The 19-year-old isn’t the only midfielder on the Reds’ radar, with Goal reporting last month that Aston Villa’s Carney Chukwuemeka is highly regarded at Anfield.
Following a breakthrough season in which he made 11 Premier League appearances, the 18-year-old has a slew of potential suitors, including Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, Newcastle United, and Borussia Dortmund.
