Today’s Liverpool news roundup includes updates on Roberto Firmino’s contract situation as well as the latest on reports that Kylian Mbappe is interested in joining Liverpool.
Could Bobby, after all, stay?
Firmino’s final season at Liverpool was widely expected to be a minor role before leaving on a free transfer next summer.
But, with eight goals and four assists so far this season, is Bobby making a case for a new deal?
According to GOAL’s Liverpool correspondent Neil Jones, Firmino’s stay at Anfield could be extended beyond this season.
Jones told The Guardian that the club’s owners “were done” with the idea of not offering Firmino a new contract.
“I don’t think they’re done; I think everything is still possible.”
Jones was also questioned about the possibility of Kylian Mbappe joining the club, despite reports that he wants to leave in January.
“It’s difficult to see Liverpool putting anything together to sign Kylian Mbappe,” he added.
“Jurgen discussed it at the beginning of the summer and stated that the figures are simply not possible.”
Who needs Mbappe when Bobby is in this form?
