Sub-Heading: La Liga president responds to PSG’s comments about Barcelona’s finances.
La Liga president Javier Tebas took to Twitter to criticize Paris Saint-Germain after the French club’s president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, made comments about Barcelona’s financial situation.
Al-Khelaifi took a shot at Barcelona and their financial situation, claiming that the way the club had been run was ‘dangerous’ and ‘unsustainable.’
“We must be cautious of dangerous levels of debt and of magically injecting capital.” This is not a sustainable course of action. “We need to think long term,” he said.
In response to the PSG president’s statements, La Liga supremo Tebas has slammed the club’s management, criticizing them for operating without any constraints due to their owners’ unlimited access to funds.
“There is no magic, the @FCBarcelona es has sold some of its assets to cover its losses, instead ‘you turn on the gas,’ says the @psg inside.” The first step toward long-term football is to pay what is owed, right?”
Texas has previously been very critical of PSG’s operations, even questioning the lack of Financial Fair Play sanctions against them.
Tebas and Al-Khelaifi have had numerous verbal spats in the past, with the PSG president recently calling La Liga a “dead” league, prompting a response from Tebas.
The La Liga president did not mince words after PSG was able to offer Kylian Mbappe a massive new contract in order to prevent him from joining Real Madrid.
