“JUDGMENT”:  La-Liga Condemned 24 Controversial Chants Following Atletico Madrid Vs Real Madrid Clash

Temperaments flared between both sides during last Sunday’s hard-fought Madrid Derby, which Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid won 2-1.

For starters, there were a number of Atletico Madrid fans who were openly racist towards Vinicius Jr. both before and during the game, in the aftermath of the controversy sparked by his tendency to dance during celebrations.

With this issue igniting animosity between both sides, it appeared that a large number of Atleti supporters were in a violent mood with their behavior on the night.

So much so that, according to an AS report, as many as 24 chants sung by the hosts have been condemned by La Liga as racist, xenophobic, violent, and, in general, intolerant in sport.

It is also stated that the Anti-Violence Commission will investigate the phrases.

While some of these chants were directed solely at Vinicius Jr., others were directed at the home crowd, expressing their displeasure with the away fans.

Typical chants include “You are a mo**ey, Vinicius, you are a mo**ey!”, “Vinicius, die!”, and “Come to the plague, the Madridista arrives with those obvious horns.” The Madridista, son of a bi**h, the Atletico Front revels in his demise, oe oe, oe!”

While the majority of those singing these chants are reportedly Atletico Madrid fans, some Real Madrid fans are also present in the stands.

La Liga’s complaint to the Anti-Violence Commission includes chants both inside and outside the Civitas Metropolitano, as well as object throwing on the pitch during the game.
