Liverpool have recently been linked with Enzo Fernandez, an exciting young Benfica midfielder who has impressed in the Portuguese league and with the Argentina national team.
The Reds are said to be interested in Fernandez, despite the fact that he has a £106.5 million release clause, according to O. Jogo (via the Liverpool Echo).
With Jurgen Klopp‘s current crop of midfielders looking a little past their peak, the 21-year-old could be a fine signing to strengthen a problem position for Liverpool.

Fabrizio Romano, writing in his exclusive column for sporthub, has played down the situation.
Liverpool’s links with Fernandez, as he expects a long list of names to be mentioned as rumored targets for the club in the coming months.
Romano admits that LFC is looking for a big signing in midfield next summer, but for the time being, it appears that is the main reason for the Fernandez links, rather than anything genuine or concrete.
“We’ve heard a lot about Jude Bellingham, and now Enzo Fernandez is causing a stir!” “To be honest, I believe Liverpool will be linked with 20-30 midfielders in the coming months because it is widely known that they are looking for a top midfielder in 2023,” Romano explained.

“As for Enzo Fernandez, he’s only recently arrived at Benfica, he’s focused on Benfica and the World Cup, and no one close to him wants to talk about a potential transfer right now.” Let’s see what happens in the summer!”
Liverpool fans will undoubtedly be watching Fernandez’s progress, as he may eventually work his way onto the club’s radar if he continues to demonstrate such enormous potential.
