Gerard Deulofeu discussed Barcelona’s season so far in a recent interview with Cope (h/t Diario SPORT). He also discussed Inter Milan’s tactics ahead of their Champions League clash with Barcelona, while praising new signing Robert Lewandowski.
Deulofeu, who recently ruled out a return to Camp Nou, has had enormous success since joining Udinese. But he still has a lot of respect for Barcelona and believes they can win this season.

“I am completely confident in the team that Barça has put together, with the leaders who have arrived and everything that has been signed.” Last year was for transition, but I believe this is the year for Barça to step up and compete for LaLiga and the Champions League.”
The former La Masia forward then provided tactical insight into Barcelona’s upcoming match against Inter Milan, saying, “Inter close well and leave few spaces, but Barça are a team that moves the ball quickly, and I think they are favorites in these two games.”
With over 50 competitive matches for Udinese under his belt, the former Barcelona forward is well aware of Inter’s strengths and weaknesses. As a result, he believes Simone Inzaghi’s team has “weaknesses in getting the ball out if you beat them in midfield.”

Deulofeu was equally effusive in his praise for Barcelona superstar Lewandowski. He praised the Pole for the qualities he has brought to the final third, even naming him one of Europe’s top three strikers.
“Because of how he acts and looks for open spaces.” His movements in the area appear to be brutal to me. He is a leader, one of Europe’s top three strikers, and makes Barcelona a contender for everything.
