Scott McTominay has already been told what he needs to work on next, At Manchester United.
Since the arrival of Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford, the 25-year-form old’s has improved. McTominay, who plays in the holding midfield position, has kept new signing Casemiro out of the team thanks to his impressive performances alongside Christian Eriksen.
United’s central midfielder has recently impressed on the international stage. He was the standout performer in Scotland’s 3-0 Nations League victory over Ukraine on Wednesday night.
Former Reds defender Rio Ferdinand, on the other hand, has previously explained what McTominay must now add to his game in order to take another step forward. Ferdinand made an admission about McTominay in August when United was interested in Adrien Rabiot.
“There’s no denying Rabiot is an extremely talented footballer,” Ferdinand told Vibe with Five. “Excellent left foot, brilliant at carrying the ball, dribbling and taking the ball under pressure, can pass – particularly well over short distances.” Man United will most likely use him as a holding player or as a number eight. My main concern is that if he’s going to be an eight, he won’t score enough goals.
“McTominay has more goals than him in the last couple of seasons, and he also doesn’t get enough. So, will the fanbase be pleased?”
McTominay has yet to make an impact for United this season. McTominay has scored nine Premier League goals in the last three seasons, and he has only found the back of the net 16 times in his senior career at the Theatre of Dreams.
