Vinicius Junior extends Real Madrid contract

Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior has signed a contract extension with Los Blancos, which will keep him at the club until 2027.

According to a report from the Spanish publication AS, Vinicius Junior has extended his Real Madrid deal, which was due to run out in 2024. The three-year extension will not keep the 22-year-old at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2027.

There have been rumors of a potential extension for a while now. Furthermore, the player was on wages of around €3 million per year at the club. But the extension sees the talismanic forward receive a deserved pay rise. He will now earn €8 million per year at Real Madrid.

The Brazilian international joined Real Madrid for a fee of around €45 million back in 2018 and his value as tripled since his arrival. Vinicius is undoubtedly one of the best players at the club, and it makes sense for Los Blancos to secure his long-term future.

The talented winger has established himself as a key player for Carlo Ancelotti and helped Real Madrid win La Liga and the UEFA Champions League last season. Vinicius scored the winning goal against Liverpool in the final of the Champions League and ended the season with 22 goals and 20 assists.

The 22-year-old has started the 2022/23 season in top form as well. And he has eight goals and five assists to his name so far. Currently, he is the top scorer for Real Madrid.
