Joao Felix has been tipped to join Man United in the January transfer window after his fine performances for Portugal in Qatar

Manchester United are reportedly ‘considering’ a loan deal for Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix in the January transfer window.

According to ESPN, United are looking to present Diego Simeone’s side with a loan offer for Felix, with an obligation for a permanent deal in the summer. The report states that a potential € 100 million (£ 86 million) price tag is proving to be a stumbling block for Erik ten Hag to be able to sign the Portugal international outright in January.

The 23-year-old has been superb for Portugal during their World Cup campaign, as he now attracts the attention of Europe’s top clubs off the back of his stunning performances. Felix has been rumored to be unhappy with his lack of minutes for Atletico, with United now looking to offer an escape route for the La Liga star, as he goes in search of more game time this season.

Elsewhere, long-term United target Frenkie de Jong could be set to join Bayern Munich, according to Spanish outlet Sport (via The Sun).

United heavily pursued a deal for De Jong over the course of the summer, as the transfer saga dominated the headlines. Ten Hag was eager to reunite with his former Ajax player at Old Trafford, yet a deal failed to materialize. Barcelona and United even got as far as agreeing terms for the midfielder, but little progress was made following the early breakthrough in negotiations.

The latest reports though could once and for all put the speculation linking the midfielder with a move to Old Trafford to bed. It is claimed that Bayern are convinced that the La Liga giants will sell, with De Jong believed be tempted by a move to the Bundesliga side.
