After a strong start to life at Old Trafford, Christian Eriksen has been named Manchester United’s Player of the Month for September.

The Dane joined the Reds in the summer transfer window from Brentford and has made eight appearances for Erik ten Hag‘s side so far this season. Eriksen, who has two assists for the Reds, has recently formed a good relationship with Bruno Fernandes and Scott McTominay and has helped United win their last four Premier League games.

In the last month, the 30-year-old has been deployed in a deeper midfield role, with his ability to dictate play allowing Ten Hag’s men to keep possession of the ball.

Eriksen delivered an assured performance in United’s narrow victory over Leicester City on September 1st, before demonstrating his class three days later against current league leaders Arsenal.

His strong performances have earned him the Player of the Month award for September, with 62% of the vote, beating out fellow nominees Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane to secure the award in only his second month of competitive action at Old Trafford.

The 30-year-old had an assist in the win over the Gunners before being named man-of-the-match in the Europa League against FC Sheriff, where he also assisted on Sancho’s opener.

Eriksen follows in the footsteps of fellow summer signing Lisandro Martinez, who was named Player of the Month for August shortly after joining the club.
