Barcelona have met with the representatives of Brazilian wonderkid Endrick to inform them of their interest in signing him, according to SPORT’s Joaquim Piera.
After his exploits earlier this year at the Copinha tournament, the 16-year-old prodigy is widely regarded as one of the best young prospects coming through in South America.
Endrick recently signed his first professional contract with Palmeiras after turning 16, but he could be out of the club in a couple of years when he turns 18. Many top clubs in Europe, including Barcelona, are vying for his signature.
The Blaugrana have had their eye on the teenage sensation for some time now, and they have now made contact with his entourage and expressed their desire to sign the 16-year-old forward.
According to the report, the club officials and Endrick’s representatives met in Catalonia and exchanged information on their current positions regarding the forward’s future.

The Blaugrana detailed to Endrick’s team that they have been monitoring him for some time and that he meets all of the requirements that the club is looking for. He is already on the verge of making his first-team debut for Palmeiras at the age of 16, and Barcelona believes he has enormous potential.
After informing Endrick’s agents of their desire to sign him, Barcelona intends to hold talks with Palmeiras at the end of the season in order to secure the Brazilian whizkid. The club is already working on the deal’s structure.
Endrick, whose contract with Palmeiras includes a €32 million release clause, will be able to leave Brazil only when he reaches the age of 18 in July 2024.
Apart from Barcelona, Real Madrid and PSG are also interested in the teenager, with the latter being said to be the Catalans’ main rival.
The Blaugrana intend to start talks with Palmeiras in the summer, but they are hesitant to commit to a deal because their financial situation is far from ideal. But, with PSG reportedly pushing hard for his signing, Barça will need to act quickly.
