Manchester United produced a big performance against Manchester City in the FA Cup Final which many simply did not expect.
One player who really shone, proving a point after a very difficult season, was on loan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.
Sofyan Amrabat was among the best players in the FA Cup Final, stepping in for Casemiro and producing a performance which left many Manchester United fans calling for him to be signed permanently.
Amrabat’s future remains in doubt, with his loan deal set to expire, and clubs are paying serious attention to his situation.
Sofyan Amrabat tipped for AC Milan
Sofyan Amrabat is still under contract to Fiorentina, although is not expected to play for them again.
According to TMW, Amrabat is on the radar of giants AC Milan, who finished second to Inter last season and have Champions League football to offer.
Former United star Zlatan Ibrahimovic is claimed by the report to have recommended Amrabat to AC Milan, believing he can offer something different to the team’s existing options.
Ibrahimovic has been working as ‘senior advisor’ to AC Milan’s ownership group since last December.
It is unclear whether Milan intend to act on this advice at this early stage, but the report does say Amrabat’s salary would not be an issue for the club.
Amrabat also wanted by Galatasaray
Last week, Turkish outlet Fotospor report Galatasaray are interested in signing Amrabat, and these reports have continued to gain traction.
NTV report their interest in Amrabat is accelerating, although it is unclear how far they can get in the short-term.
The possibility of Amrabat staying at Manchester United is uncertain. There is an option for United to trigger his signing for £20 million – but this could be dependent on the future of manager Erik ten Hag, which is currently undecided.
Amrabat spoke after the FA Cup Final and said he was open to talks about staying at Old Trafford.
The longer the uncertainty goes, the more chance of teams like AC Milan turning his head.
