Tim Steidten is expected to be in favour of West Ham sacking David Moyes in favour of a new manager after significant changes at the London Stadium, according to The Guardian.

The newspaper reported via its website on 19 February that, after the technical director moved to bring in new recruitment staff, he wants to play a leading role in the new manager search.

Graham Potter, Paulo Fonseca and Julen Lopetegui are all said to have been considered to take over from Moyes, while Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel is unlikely to want the job if he is sacked.

The news that a key figure behind the scenes at the London Stadium is in favour of Moyes leaving is perhaps more of a damning verdict for his future than any other rumours at this stage.

Steidten has been heavily linked with making a switch to Liverpool, something the Hammers will demand hefty compensation for should he opt to move, although it is said that a hands-on role in the managerial process could tempt him to stay.

After the 6-0 defeat to Arsenal, pressure began to truly mount on Moyes as the board opted to delay any offer of a contract extension, and will now wait for the boss to turn around the Hammers’ form.

However, a 2-0 defeat against a Nottingham Forest side who will have been deemed beatable prior to the game will have done nothing to help the boss, with Steidten now lurking in the background.
