David Moyes sack decision now made at West Ham United
West Ham United have opted not to sack David Moyes for now after the club’s 2-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, according to Jacob Steinberg.
Writing on his personal Twitter account (17 February), the Guardian journalist reports the club have opted not to make any “panic decisions” with the manager unlikely to lose his job based off the most recent result.
No decision has yet been made on the manager’s contract, which is due to expire in the summer, although Steinberg admitted it is currently “unlikely” he is offered a new deal based on the team’s form and the fact the away fans have now turned against him.

What needs to happen at the London Stadium for the West Ham board to realise that Moyes simply has to go at this point?
The away fans have already turned, making songs about his poor selections and results, while they even held up “Moyes Out” banners after the game at the City Ground which suggests they were expecting a defeat.
It also certainly doesn’t help matters when Moyes tries to fight back publicly with words rather than performances, and it tells you the relationship between fans and manager is broken.

West Ham are in a good position to really push on and to do that a more progressive manager is needed, so they can be braver with team selections and tactics to turn bad results into positive ones.
Moyes has taken this team as far as he can, and the longer he stays the more he stains his legacy. It’s time for Moyes to leave, and the quicker the board realise it the better. If he’s still at the club beyond the summer it will be a grave mistake.
