Aston Villa have signed Lino Sousa from Arsenal Aston Villa have completed the acquisition of Lino Sousa from Arsenal, loaning the left-back to Plymouth Argyle for the remainder of the season.
Sousa was already in Villa’s sights in 2022 while at West Bromwich Albion and will join Unai Emery’s first team this summe.
The18-year-old is a highly regarded defender and becomes the latest youngster to sign for Villa after developing at West Brom earlier in his career.Mark Harrison, the club’s academy manager, and Steve Hopcroft, the club’s head of Payer Talent ID, have both joined Villa from West Brom in recent years.
Another January signing, Morgan Rogers, is also well known to the Bodymoor Heath staff from his time at the Hawthorns.
Sousa leaves Arsenal without playing first team football but was named as one of the substitutes for the FA Cup third round defeat to Liverpool earlier this month.He also traveled to Dubai during the winter break for Arsenal’s warm-weather training camp.
The teenager has made 14 appearances for the Gunners’ age group this season in the UEFA Youth League, Premier League 2 and the EFL Trophy.
Sousa is 1.80 meters tall and has all the qualities needed to become a Premier League player.
